Kane Simons (TraderKane)
Founder, Prop Firm Compare · bought a Pro Evaluation 150K, now working through it on NinjaTrader
OneUp Trader is one of the longer running futures evaluation firms, and it works differently from most of the newer names. I bought a Pro Evaluation 150K with my own money, no gifted or sponsored account, and traded it on NinjaTrader. I am still working through the evaluation, so this review stops where my experience does. The thing to understand before buying is that the evaluation bills monthly, and you need at least 5 trading days to pass.
Lo que me gustó
No daily loss limit
100% of your first $10,000 in profit, then 90%
Unlimited balance resets
A free NinjaTrader licence and free market data, including Level 2
15 contracts on a 150K
The trailing drawdown stops at your starting balance
24/7 customer support
Customer support has been good whenever I have needed it
A tener en cuenta
The Pro Evaluation is a monthly subscription, $265 a month for a 150K
A minimum of 5 trading days to pass, so there is no one day pass
An activation fee: half is paid upfront and half after you are funded
A consistency rule during the evaluation: your next three best days must add up to at least 80% of your best day
The drawdown trails your account balance at a set distance as it grows, and your balance must never touch it
My Experience With OneUp Trader
I bought a Pro Evaluation 150K and traded it on NinjaTrader, using the free licence OneUp includes. Credentials came through immediately after buying, and I am now working through the evaluation.
OneUp sells a standard Evaluation and a Pro Evaluation. On a 150K, the Pro Evaluation costs $265 a month against $175 for the standard one, and cuts the minimum from 10 trading days to 5. Both ask for $9,000 profit inside a $5,000 trailing drawdown, with up to 15 contracts and no daily loss limit.
The consistency rule is unusual. Rather than capping your best day as a percentage of total profit, OneUp asks that your three next best days add up to at least 80% of your best day. In practice it does the same job, stopping one big day from carrying the evaluation. The drawdown follows your account balance upward at a set distance, $5,000 on a 150K, until it reaches your starting balance and stops. Your balance must stay above it at all times. With unlimited balance resets and free data, the main cost to watch is the monthly fee, since a slow pass adds up. The full lineup and current pricing are on the challenges page.
My Payout Experience
I have not taken a payout from OneUp yet, as I am still in the evaluation. I will update this section once I have been paid.
OneUp says traders keep 100% of their first $10,000 and 90% after that, with withdrawals available from day one. Its homepage does not state payout frequency, caps or minimums. That is OneUp's published policy, not my own experience.
Which Account Would I Choose?
Kane's Pick: Pro Evaluation 150K
This is the account I bought. It costs $90 a month more than the standard evaluation at this size, but halves the minimum to 5 trading days. If you expect to pass quickly, the shorter minimum can save you a month's fee.
The standard evaluation suits traders who are happy to take at least 10 days and want the lower monthly price. Compare them on the challenges page.
Who I Would Recommend OneUp Trader To
Choose OneUp Trader if you want no daily loss limit, free NinjaTrader and market data, and 100% of your first $10,000. If you want a one time fee and a faster pass, compare Lucid Trading.
Preguntas frecuentes de la review de OneUp Trader de Kane
The Pro Evaluation 150K, the account he bought. It costs more each month than the standard evaluation but halves the minimum trading days to 5.
Yes, in some ways. There is no daily loss limit, unlimited balance resets and free data. The catch is monthly billing, so a slow pass costs more.
Monthly billing, a minimum of 5 trading days on the Pro Evaluation or 10 on the standard one, an activation fee split between purchase and funding, and a consistency rule during the evaluation.
Not through Prop Firm Compare, since code LAB does not work with OneUp Trader. OneUp does offer a 7 day free trial, so you can test the platform before paying.
NinjaTrader users who want no daily loss limit, free data and accounts up to 250K, and who do not mind monthly billing.
OneUp includes free NinjaTrader and market data, and has no daily loss limit. The trade is monthly billing and a longer minimum to pass than newer firms.
Monthly billing, a minimum trading day requirement, an activation fee and an evaluation consistency rule.
